Digital X-Rays

You know how important dental x-rays are to the continuing health of your mouth. Traditionally, though, x-rays have mainly been a tool for discovering damage or decay when it has developed into a problem. We don’t think that is good enough. We use digital x-ray equipment for every diagnostic encounter because digital x-rays give a brighter, clearer, panoramic image of your mouth. With a digital x-ray, we take a picture of your teeth, then almost immediately see it on a computer monitor. This large, color-enhanced image lets us get a better picture of your oral health, allowing for earlier treatment. Many of our patients are amazed by what they see!

Even more exciting is the fact that this type of imaging can be digitally compared to previous x-rays. Our advanced computer technology digitally compares images, then subtracts what is the same from one x-ray to the next to give us a clear image of even the tiniest changes. Miniscule changes that may not be seen by even the most discerning eye can be caught earlier and seen more clearly. In addition, we can keep all of your x-rays electronically for easy access and comparison.

To top it off, digital x-rays are good for all of us – and for the environment. They significantly decrease the exposure time to radiation and don’t use photo chemicals and traditional film so there is no environmental waste.
